This proposal is an attempt to address time awareness at the application level, the goal being:

---->   enabling applications to provide adequate responsiveness in (soft) real time; adequate meaning "on time", and "appropriate"

This proposal, of course, is meant to be discussed / fixed / improved / completed.

The general motivation is:

----> we - in CADIA - are getting closer and closer towards real-world interaction and its related requirements, like real time system responsiveness, embedded computing, scalability, etc...
----> Cf. EU ICT framework 7: real world interaction is definitely a strong requirement
----> real time application development opportunities are interesting (content + research + funding), growing, and the time horizon is getting very short

So, let's move quickly on this subject!

Cheers

Eric
